Daily Affirmations - Day 7 - Full of God: Farther Along

Writer: Alisa B.Alisa B.

Day 7: Farther along

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).

God clearly promises that the mysteries of life will eventually be made clear. Sometimes this happens quite soon. But some of life’s mysteries are never made plain in this present world. Life is too short. Godly people die with perplexities unexplained. But there is another life after this. We shall be raised to immortality and live forever, after leaving this “earthly house” (2 Corinthians 5:1). There will be time enough then for the deepest mysteries to be made plain.

“What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Believe this. Believe that “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18). Believe that the clouds will lift and that a whole heavenful of sunshine and blue sky will appear!

Believe that today’s stress and strain, pinching and anxiety, will pass away—and that you will have rest, plenty, and gladness. Believe that beyond today’s sorrow, and indeed out of it, will come comfort and joy. Believe that today’s affliction is actually producing “a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Believe that your present burdens will become wings to lift you upward into the blessings of eternal life! Believe that the buds under the snow will be glorious roses in a little while!

Farther along we’ll know more about it,

Farther along we’ll understand why;

Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,

We’ll understand it all by and by.
