Daily Affirmations - Day 6 - To Whom I Belong - More Than Conquerors

Day 6: More than conquerors
…Those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all... For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children (Romans 8:9,14-16 - NLT).

Great and mighty God, to think that we can call You, the God of the universe, "Abba, Father," is truly cause for wonder, See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1).
You made humans in Your image, and it was You who gave them innate feelings of tenderness towards their children (see Job 39:13-17). Yet even humans who love to their greatest capacity are still fallible, and their love is at best, imperfect.
But Yours is a perfect love— pure, unfailing, infinite, measureless. Your love is patient, kind, forgiving. It is protective, trustworthy, unending... (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). And You have given us this reassurance, If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32).
Yet, Abba, Father, some of Your children today are struggling against the evil, brokenness, trouble, and turmoil of this world. Many are crushed under the weight of injustice, greed, and cruel power. Many are hungry, homeless, destitute. Many others face calamity, danger, persecution, or death for the sake of Your name (vs. 35 - NLT).
But You have given us Your promise that nothing can separate us from Your love (vs. 39). You point to our surety in the Son of Your love, who was Himself crushed for our iniquities— for the iniquities of all the world (Isaiah 53:5). Yet, in the midst of deepest pain He entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly (1 Peter 2:23 - CEB).
In His extreme anguish, He cried out to You, "Abba, Father" (Mark 14:36) and You heard Him. You showed Him and all the worlds You had created through Him— from the heavenly realms to the depths of the earth and the farthest sea— that You had not abandoned Him (Psalm 16:9-10).
In the same way, to everyone who belongs to You, who believes in Your Son, and cries out, "Abba Father," You have given that very promise, I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). And we know that all Your promises are “Yes” and "Amen" in Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Wherever we are, today, Father, in doubt, distress, despair, desperation, weakness, hurt, pain, sorrow— in any and every need; in any and every trouble or mortal ill— remind us that by the love and power of the Lord Jesus— by His unceasing intercession (Romans 8: 34), we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
