Day 5: Protector and King
The Lord is our Protector and glorious King, blessing us with kindness and honor. He does not refuse any good thing to those who do what is right (Psalm 84:11 - GNT).
After Thy grace, O Lord, I press,
Persistent ev'ry day,
I would be filled with righteousness;
Help me, my King, I pray.
Of strength divine I would take hold,
And live in highest peace;
Approach with love and faith so bold,
Unto Thy throne of grace.
Awake within me newer zeal,
To seek Thee ev'ry hour,
And let my sluggish spirit feel
The quick'ning of Thy pow'r.
Give me not up to mine own heart,
Baptize my soul in Thee,
Let me in Christ secure apart,
And in Him happy be.

Almighty God,
You are the Protector
of all who hope in You.
Without Your grace,
no one can do anything,
or merit anything before You.
Let your mercy be with us richly,
so that as You dwell in us,
we think what is right
and by Your work in us,
we do what is right;
for the sake of Jesus Christ,
your Son, our Lord.
