Daily Affirmations - Day 4 - Our God Can: Lead me to the Rock

Writer: Alisa B.Alisa B.

Day 4: Lead me to the rock

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings (Psalm 61:1-5).

Our Father, You revealed Yourself to Moses as The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness..." (Exodus 34:6).

Today, we appeal to Your great compassion as we stagger under the weight of pain, sorrow suffering, and injustice in this world. We say like the psalmist, "From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2).

As we look at the world around us, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless. It is easy to withdraw in mental and emotional overload and confusion.

But help us to keep perspective, even in difficult times, for You are God at all times, and the timeless words You spoke to Your ancient people are still true, Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides Me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one” (Isaiah 44:8).

We pray for the hurt, the grieving, the sick, the suffering, the powerless, the helpless, the abused, and the distressed. For those dealing with broken relationships, those processing bad news, those reeling from shock, those struggling with addictions, those paralyzed by decisions. Oh Lord, the spectrum of troubles is so vast— we cannot possibly name them all—but You know every heart, every struggle, every pain.

We pray for peace and comfort, healing and support. We pray for strength and endurance, forgiveness and restoration. We pray for freedom and resolve, wisdom and insight. We pray for the light of Your love to fill every dark space and every hopeless pit.

Father, give us courage, compassion, and love. Help us to reach out to the broken. Let them be drawn to You as we show them Your love and care. Use us where we are to minister in Your Name and through Your strength. Let Your healing mercy and grace flow through us, as we pray for Your kingdom to come. Let Your good, perfect and pleasing will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
