Daily Affirmations - Where the Sidewalk Wends - Day 3

Updated: Aug 14, 2022

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is You who watch over my way (Psalm142:3).

Father, You see our failures and our struggles. You know that we often wrestle with issues that are really symptoms of greater struggles in the battlefield of the mind.

We have been told in Your Holy Word that “the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God...” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

Help me O Lord, to recognize patterns of negative thinking, and to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,”—to the hope He procured—to the power and the freedom He made possible.

Free me from the fear, discouragement or despair that can trigger procrastination, indecision and paralysis. Help me to be productive and fruitful, with a sound mind and a balanced disposition.

Thank You, O kind Father, that “the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7). By Your grace and power, help me demonstrate these in increasing measure. Beginning today.
