Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken (Psalm 55:22).
Heavenly Father, You do not shield us from the reality of life's difficulties in our sin-damaged world, but You promise us Your presence and Your ultimate deliverance: The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord [brings deliverance] from them all (Psalm 34:19).
Even though we dare not call ourselves righteous before You, or stand in our own merit, we know that for those who trust in You, all are justified freely by [God's] grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24).
What a tremendous promise, that You will never let the righteous be shaken! Help us to live in the security of that truth. We confess to You how difficult it can be when we feel the shaking of circumstances all around us. But we thank You that even when circumstances fall apart, or give way, You are the Solid Rock under our feet. Thank You for sustaining us.
Father deliver us from fear, worry, and anxiety. We give You our needs. We surrender our concerns. We cast our cares on You, actively, and completely, appealing to the truth and the promises in Your word:
In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly (Psalm 5:3).
But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish (Psalm 9:18).
No one who hopes in [God] will ever be put to shame (Psalm 25:3)
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord (Psalm 27:13-14).
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life..." (Matthew 6:25-27)?
The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:5-7).
Cast all your anxiety on [God] because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Thank You, Lord for Your unfailing love. Fill our minds today with the truth of these faithful, trustworthy, and unshakable promises.
