Daily Affirmations - Rescue Mission - Day 4

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing (I shall not want NJJV). He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake" (Psalm 23:1-3).

All praise and glory be to You, God, our Father, Jesus our Saviour, the Loving Shepherd of Your sheep!

Thank You for Your daily provision. Thank You, for instructing us to pray, "Give us this day, our daily bread," (Matthew 6:11, Luke 11:3) because You desire to "meet all [our] needs according to the riches of [Your] glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). All things come from You, our Provider, our great Jehovah-Jireh!

Thank You O Lord, for feeding us with Your manna, so "that [You] might make [us] know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord" (Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4). Make us hungry for Your manna. Help us not to despise the "grain of heaven, the bread of angels" (Psalm 78:24-25); and crave the things that are harmful to us, gorging ourselves on deadly quail (Psalm 78:27-31).

Thank You that “[Your] divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3). You meet our material needs, You give physical strength, and You provide spiritual sustenance—our cup overflows! Help us to care for each other in community, and to "share [our] bread with the hungry" (Isaiah 58:7).
