Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him (Psalm 37:5).
Our Father in Heaven, teach us trust. Teach us how to commit our way to You. Lord, we are surrounded by Your goodness, Your faithfulness, Your power, and Your love. And yet we struggle so much with surrender! Forgive us, Lord, for all the ways we try to direct our own path, to be captains of our own souls.
You alone Lord, are conqueror. You alone are sovereign, You alone are omnipotent. Thank you for Your saving grace, Your tender mercies, Your daily compassions, Your unfailing love.
Order our steps Lord! Help us to "walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous" (Proverbs 2:20). Help us to lean on You, to trust you fully—with childlike faith—knowing that You are a good and compassionate Father, "abounding in love and faithfulness" (Psalm 86:15).
Thank You for the strength we get from the words of our Lord Jesus, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33)
What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms.
