Daily Affirmations - Day 7 - All Your Cares - Hope and Endurance

Day 7: Hope and endurance
For You have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth (Psalm 71:5).

Our heavenly Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life (2 Peter 1:3). You see much deeper, higher, and wider than we ever can, and You provide us with much more than the earthly, tangible things that are often our focus.
You anticipate all that we need for endurance and encouragement, and through Your holy Scriptures You show us the grace and hope that are ours as we navigate this difficult and troubled word:
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope (Romans 15:4).
You show us the connecting points in Your amazing story of love to make sure we grasp the full import of Your purpose and plan. Through the teachings of the gospel writers and the apostles, You help us to see— just as Jesus helped the disciples to see— beginning with Moses and all the Prophets... what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself (Luke 24:27).
Early in the account of Your incredible mindfulness of humans You show us Your promise to Abraham, "Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed" (Genesis 22:18). In the Law and the Prophets, and in the gospels You show us the fulfillment of this promise in the Lord Jesus Christ.
And in the Epistle to the Hebrews You ensure that we are provided a recounting of events, sequences, and important summations to help us understand the masterful, cohesive nature of Your great design:
When God made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself...
[Humans] swear by someone greater than themselves, and their oath serves as a confirmation to end all argument.
So when God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear... He guaranteed it with an oath. Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope.... may be strongly encouraged... (Hebrews 6:13, 16-18).
Father, this is only one of the important threads of Your great story of incredible love and amazing grace. But always, at the center, is the Lord Jesus and the hope He gives us— hope not just for this transient life, but for eternal life with You, forever removed from all earth's troubles.
And so regardless of the tossing and the buffeting of this world, We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure... (Hebrews 6:19).
We can now live in the full confidence that Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us (Romans 8:34).
Knowing this, our gracious Lord, we cast all our cares on You, in humble gratitude, confident that You care for those who trust in You (Nahum 1:7, 1 Peter 5:7).
