Daily Affirmations - Day 6 - Have You Not Heard?: A Shield Around Me

Day 6: A shield around me

Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high (Psalm 3:2-3).

Praise be to You our Father—our refuge and shelter, stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope (Psalm 130:5).

You alone, O Lord, understand the lonely and desolate places that overshadow our path—the places of aching and yearning, wrestling, and weariness. You alone can follow where no human can, and find us in the darkest night of the soul.

When we are at our weakest, Father, and find ourselves, like David, with compounding sorrow and pain, multiplying trouble and hardship—assaulted, thrown down, tottering and toppled (Psalm 62:3-4), You find us in the desert place and You show us, Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me (Psalm 27:10).

O Lord, we wait for Your deliverance. Speak Your peace into our souls above the voices of malice and mockery—the many that say, “There is no help for him in God” (Psalm 3:2- NKJV).

You are the Everlasting God, the One who says, Do you not know? Have you not heard... those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:28, 31).

Thou, Lord, art a shield for me—my glory, and the lifter up of my head (Psalm 3:3 - KJV). Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him (Psalm 62:5).
