Day 3: I Will Remember
Then I thought, “To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out His right hand. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your miracles of long ago. I will consider all Your works and meditate on all Your mighty deeds” (Psalm 77:10-12).
Lord, You are good, and what You do is good (Psalm 119:68). But our eyes, our minds only understand good in limited ways— we cannot see what You see, do not know what You know.
Give us vision as we try to navigate through the twists and turns, the ups and downs of this life. We do not understand a great many things in this world, but You have given us enough understanding and revelation so that we can know You, and trust You; so that we can have faith and hope, and confidence in Your unfailing love.
When we lose perspective as we confront the wrongs, the evils, the difficulties, and the troubles of this broken world, remind us of Your faithfulness. When, like the psalmist we are tempted to believe You have abandoned us, and we pour out our despair— “Will the Lord reject forever? Will He never show His favor again? Has His unfailing love vanished forever? Has His promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has He in anger withheld His compassion?" (Psalm 77:7-9)— remind us of all You have done in our lives.
Lord, You are God. You are good. All Your works and all Your mighty deeds speak of who You are. Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! (Psalm 107:31 - KJV). Let this be our resolve: I will remember.
