Day 2: The Lord is exalted
What shall I return to the Lord for all His goodness to me? I will sacrifice a thank offering to You and call on the name of the Lord (Psalm 116:12-13).
“Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is Yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
You [Lord] are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from You;
You are the ruler of all things.
In Your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give You thanks,
and praise Your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:10-13
My God, how wonderful Thou art,
Thy majesty how bright,
How beautiful Thy mercy seat,
In depths of burning light!
How wonderful, how beautiful,
The sight of Thee must be,
Thine endless wisdom, boundless pow’r,
And awesome purity!
O how I fear Thee, Living God,
With deepest, tend’rest fears,
And worship Thee with trembling hope,
And penitential tears.
Yet I may love Thee too, O Lord,
Almighty as Thou art;
For Thou hast stooped to ask of me
The love of my poor heart.
Father of Jesus, love’s reward,
What rapture will it be,
Prostrate before Thy throne to lie,
And ever gaze on Thee!
