Day 2: Past finding out
As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things (Ecclesiastes 11:5).
Our Father, Sovereign Lord, we humbly acknowledge our own smallness before Your great and awesome majesty. You sit enthroned above the circle of the earth and its people are like grasshoppers (Isaiah 40:22).
You do not need to justify Yourself before us, or share Your counsel with us, for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?" (Romans 11:34). Yet You are mindful of us, You care for us... (Psalm 8:4).
You have shown us Your goodness. Teach us to trust You through all the things that are outside our control, through all the things we do not understand. Help us to know that ultimately, power and control belong only to You, despite the "illusions" of this world. You alone are God. Increase our faith. Be the Center and the Anchor on which we are fixed.
Oh, the depth of the riches both of Your wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable are Your judgments and Your ways past finding out! (Romans 11:33 - NKJV).
I never saw a moor;
I never saw the sea,
